Stakeholders
The "Our future. It's in our hands" Skills Campaign enables partners and stakeholders to tap into a national campaign that stimulates and supports their own local marketing efforts. It has been very successful to date, and two in three adults (65%) said that they recognised the Skills Campaign*.

When combined local and national campaigns have had demonstrable successes in raising awareness and course take-up across the country, a fact that has been borne out since the launch of the Skills Campaign in 2007.
Jackie Miller, Head of Marketing at Gen II agrees:
"We have been impressed with the campaign resources which have allowed us to integrate the Skills Campaign into our own marketing material. Our future. It's in our hands" is an emotive statement which we are sure will help individuals take ownership for their own education. The whole campaign has really helped to raise the profile of education on a local and national scale.

I think it has been an absolutely fantastic campaign. I think that it has created a great buzz around education especially around the further education sector. I think our students are genuinely being inspired to come to the college and speak further, find out about the choices that further education offers them.
I like the element of choice [that the Skills Campaign offers]. It's putting information into the hands of the learner to either carry on as they are or gain the skills that will help them in their future careers.
The college can incorporate the logos, incorporate imagery and it links in with this great national campaign.

The LSC Skills Campaign has provided a useful focus for our marketing activities in relation to skills training for the workplace. The advertising campaign has focused attention on skills training in the workplace which we have complemented with our own marketing materials using images and information from the original campaign.

The Learning and Skills Council, working in partnership with stakeholders, has been tasked to lead the vital programme of work. Its aim is simple, its ambition is greater; to deliver the message about why skills are vital to us all.
In plain terms, we need to create a culture change. We need to create a culture of demand for skills, where young people, adults and employers demand skills and qualifications because they recognise the social and economic benefits they bring themselves and their businesses.
Although we will face many challenges, this is also a time of huge opportunity. By working in partnership with all of our stakeholders, we have a unique chance to ensure that learning and skills become intrinsic to the lives of individuals and rest at the heart of local and regional economic development and community regeneration.
Much has already been done. We know there is more to do. By uniting together, we can deliver better skills, better jobs and better lives.
