With all these options available there’s never been a better time to improve your skills.

Adults

Adult Learning Grant (ALG)
If you're over 19 and want to study or train for your first full Level 2 or 3 qualification - this means a vocational or academic-based course up to the equivalent of 5 good GCSEs (Level 2) or A-Levels (Level 3) - ALG could provide a grant of £30 a week.
Career Development Loan
If you're over 18 and set in your career, but want to go one step further, you can access loans to cover course fees and living expenses for vocational work-related learning.

Young people

Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
EMA is a weekly payment for 16-19 year olds of up to £30 a week depending on your household income. It’s paid directly into your bank account in return for dedication to learning.
Other financial support
EMA is the main financial support scheme available to young people, but depending on your circumstances there could be other help available too.
